BEA Round Up #1

Unknown

BEA 2014 was by far THE BEST I’ve ever attended! There are many reasons, but I can list three biggies…Liza Wiemer, Valia Lind, and DJ DeSmyter. It’s because of BEA that I’ve gotten to meet these fabulous people. Liza took me under her wing during BEA 2012, I met DJ and his mom in line during BEA 2013, and this year my awesome CP Valia flew in to hang with me and sign her book.

This year was so very special because I got to meet and hang out with many online friends and bloggers. It’s nice to see each other face-to-face, rather than just via a computer screen!

And the authors, oh my!

TAC was amazing as always! This year, I stayed until the end and got the chance to talk to authors like Cara Lynn Schultz.

The Fun:

BEA Spotlight: Katie McGarry

Ahh, BEA ended just a few weeks ago, but I’m still buzzed about it! I’ve already posted about a few of my favorite reads and authors that I was lucky enough to meet, but there are still more to talk about. One of those authors is Katie McGarry.

Harlequin Teen held an in booth signing that included: Katie McGarry, Amanda Sun, Julie Kagawa, and Elizabeth Scott. While waiting in the mile long line, Indelible by Dawn Metcalf was handed out as a “ticket”. Dawn was there signing her book while everyone waited. She was so nice!

Don’t get me wrong, I loved meeting all of these talented authors, and can’t wait to read their books, but I was super excited to meet Katie. I absolutely loved Pushing the Limits and I knew I just had to have Dare to You. By the time I reached where she was standing I was in total fangirl mode. I was able to squeak out a few words before I had to move onto the next author.

13561164Dare You To

Ryan lowers his lips to my ear. “Dance with me, Beth.”

“No.” I whisper the reply. I hate him and I hate myself for wanting him to touch me again….
“I dare you…”If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk’s home life, they’d send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom’s freedom and her own happiness. That’s how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn’t want her and going to a school that doesn’t understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn’t get her, but does….Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can’t tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn’t be less interested in him.

But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won’t let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all….

2 Weeks Until BEA!

Now I’m really beginning to get excited, not that I wasn’t before, but there are only two more weeks until BEA! I have been planning and plotting everything about my trip for months, from my clothing to the autograph sessions I’ll be attending. Today, I thought I’d share just who I am super stoked to meet in person. Trust me, I want to meet as many authors as I can, but some I’ve met previously at other events. Who are you all excited to meet?
